The Orla legacy

The name “Orla” has been part of the Bergvall family legacy since 1914.

That year, the MV Orla was commissioned by a consortium led by Bergvall at the Tyne Iron Shipbuilding yard. Delivered in May 1914, the vessel was soon sold at a significant profit.

In 1930, the MV Orla II followed—a second asset play venture, ordered by a syndicate of investors with Bergvall again leading and managing the project. After a short period of successful trading, Orla II was sold, delivering strong returns to its investors.

These early ventures reflect the values that continue to guide us today: co-investment, aligned interests, transparency, and an opportunistic approach. This tradition is the foundation on which Orla Capital is built.
